PRE-AMPLIFIER

 PREAMPLIFIER 

The device use to amplify weak signal from the detector before giving to the main amplifier is know as pre-amplifier.

At the same time 

a) it must add the least amount of noise possible 

b) The length of cable b/w pre amplifier and detector should be small to reduce the cable capacitance 

c) to present the correct impedance to the detector

There are three main types of Pre-amplifier 

1) current sensitive Pre-amp.

2) Voltage sensitive Pre-amp.

3) charge sensitive Pre-amp.
